What are the effects of technological change to social environment?

1. this question can be answered with probably several pages or more. Most importantly i think that technology has made communication less personal. instead of interacting face to face and in person, young people (and older people as well) are communicating everything over text messages, im's, cell phones, etc... i think that certain communication and even personality characteristics and skills are not being properly developed by younger people because they lack the experience of interpersonal relationships.
