What is Glenn Beck's reaction to the backlash?
Glenn Beck called Obama a racist a few weeks ago. As a backlash, 30+ advertiser have pulled their ads from his show (but not the network altogether). What are Beck's comments since he made this comment? Does he apologize?
Public Comments
- Mr Beck has the right as a citizen of this great country to an opinion - that is what he stated That some advertisers are too afraid to continue their support for fear some group will exercise their right not to buy a product is stupid People that like their freedom of speech - should contact those 30 advertisers and threaten to not buy their products- freedom of speech is a right of ALL not just a few chosen that you/they agree with That will never happen because people will just see it as a way to attack /remove Mr Beck....... People never see beyond their own little comfort zone until it is too late & then they wring their hands and moan over what is lost
- Has he apologized? Quite the contrary... Beck stands by the statement... as well he should. As for the so-called backlash... Beck's fans aren't backlashing at all... His ratings are still through the roof. All media channels go through periodic boycotts when someone they carry says/does something that someone gets their panties in a wad over. Beck is FOX's fair-haired boy. FOX knows the "backlash" will pass. In the meantime, there are plenty of advertisers waiting in the wings to fill the slots the wimpy advertisers vacated. Beck isn't worried and neither am I.
- People do have the right to their opinions and the advertisers of a television program have the right to sponsor it or not according to their opinions. Beck is probably crying, he does it so well.
- Well, I'm sure he's not concerned about a reaction from his viewers, because he controls their minds.... First FOCKS put O'Reilly on a short leash, now it's Beck. Does that tell U anything?
